These little guys are perfect for pre or post workout! They are a great mix of protein and carbs to keep you fueled. They also make a delicious healthy dessert or afternoon pick me up. Not to mention, they take less than 10 minutes to make!

These are a twist on my classic energy bites, found here.
Ingredients
1 cup nuts (almonds, cashews, walnuts, or any combination of them)
1 cup oats
1 cup dates
¼ cup peanut butter
1½ tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp honey (or agave or maple syrup if vegan)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4-1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
Optional add-ins
Peanut butter chips
dried fruit
other nuts or seeds
cinnamon
protein powder

Directions
Add nuts, oats, dates, honey, and vanilla extract to a food processor.
Blend until all ingredients are chopped finely and can be formed into a ball. If the mixture seems dry, add water 1 tbsp at a time. Depending on the honey and dates you use, you may need up to 3 tbsp of water to make the mixture form balls.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Wet hands (trust me, otherwise the mixture will stick like crazy to your hands) and form balls. It makes about 15.
Store in the fridge (or freezer) in an airtight container. Enjoy!
